Day 5

How to Create Content About What You Sell

The most typical mistake I’ve seen by new marketers when it comes to marketing content on social media is posting replicated website links and talking about how amazing their products or services are without any context first.

Don’t just post pictures and videos of your “best-selling products or services”. Really talk about how your offer fits and benefits your potential customers’ lives.

Think about the following questions as you are creating this content:

1) What pain, problem, or challenge is your product solving?

2) How does your product or service benefit them in their situation?

3) Is there a compelling story behind the product or service?

There are 2 types of video content you can create:

Tutorial – You can make a video over the shoulder with a screen share of what you sell, go over step-by-step directions, and simply share how to use your product or service properly. This video should be about 3-15 minutes. If you upload it on TikTok, Facebook Stories, or Instagram Stories, you are limited to shorter videos unless it’s a live stream.

Show & Tell Demonstration – A demo type of video is great and powerful; think of the days of the old home shopping network; they nailed it by showing off products in action while they were using it live on television, and it worked people bought like crazy. This video should be about 15 seconds to about one 1 minute.
